The Journal
of Energy Assistance is a publication of the National Low
Income Energy Consortium intended to add to the knowledge base of stakeholders
in the energy assistance community. It strives to publish information that
is relevant, valuable, appropriate and accurate. Research and evidence-based articles are welcome, as are case studies and
examples of best practices. The editor and editorial board welcome your contributions for review.
Submission
Guidelines
Submissions are accepted at all times during the year. If you have questions, wish to discuss ideas
or seek more information on how to submit, contact the Journal
editor, David Fox,
at the National Low Income Energy Consortium or via e-mail at editor@energyassistancejournal.org.
Purpose and Objectives
The Journal of Energy Assistance publishes
educational and research materials relevant to the subject of energy assistance.
The specific objectives of the Journal are:
-
To publish materials that will add to the growing
literature base of the energy assistance community.
-
To provide the professional field with information regarding events and developments
important to the provision of affordable energy for low-income households.
-
To provide a forum for the debate and discussion of
energy-assistance issues.
Manuscript Preparation
Submission of articles and manuscripts
consistent with the objectives of the Journal of Energy Assistance are
welcome. In the preparation of any submission to the Journal, please
carefully consider the following:
-
Manuscripts should be prepared in Associated Press style.
refer to the AP Stylebook 2001. A copy may be purchased from The Associated Press, 50 Rockefeller Plaza,
New York, NY 10020.
-
Manuscripts should be submitted either via e-mail
(preferred format: MSWord) or on
CD-ROM to the Journal editor.
-
It is expected that most manuscripts will need some
revision or enhancement following
the Journal’s review process. The final draft of a revised manuscript
should be resubmitted to the editor by e-mail or on disk.
-
Original work is preferred, although the Journal
will consider the use of previously
published work provided the author secures permission from the initial publisher
for the Journal to reproduce copyright material. Please do not
submit manuscripts that are under consideration elsewhere. Quoting from
other sources is permissible,
but only if carefully documented and referenced.
-
Article length is flexible. While submissions of 750-1,000 words are the
ideal length, there are times when a lengthier article is necessary to do
justice to the subject matter. Since the full article will be presented in
Adobe Acrobat PDF format, the primary consideration is not total word count
but producing a document that will keep the reader's attention.
-
The authors, not the Journal, are responsible for the
views and conclusions of published manuscripts.
-
The editor and editorial board have broad latitude in
editing and deciding whether to publish articles, manuscripts and feedback
on previously published material. Issues of relevancy, quality of
writing and adherence to the guidelines for preparation are critical.
Manuscript that are not published will be returned to the authors. Manuscripts may be returned without
comment, especially if no peer review is involved.
-
Submissions can be mailed to the Journal of Energy Assistance, c/o National
Low Income Energy Consortium, 6324 Beryl Road, Alexandria, VA 22312 or
submitted by e-mail to editor@energyassistancejournal.org.
